Life, or Something Like It @ 07:37 am

It's Tuesday! Another week of TV conflict. This is the only night of the week where I actually sit and watch TV for hours at a time. Mostly because I am forced to tape GG and watch AI or vice versa. Well, this week, we throw in the fact that the Dallas Mavericks are in the NBA Playoffs and Game 2 against San Antonio is tonight. Thank goodness that doesn't start til 8:30. But Dad wants to meet at Dink's around 7 so guess what? That's right, I'm going to miss AI again. And why do I select GG over AI this week? It's the GG season finale and rumor has it that it could be the end of the show for good, I can't miss that.

Still test driving LJ Editor programs for the Mac. I love Semagic on the laptop but they don't have it in a Mac form yet. I've tried iJournal and Phoenix so far. Neither one come with "cutting" capabilities though so I have to go and look up the stupid code every time I wanna do it. I don't feel like doing that tonight so I am going to tell everyone on my f-list and beyond that I am sharing news some of you may NOT want to hear relative to Chris Daughtry and American Idol. I know what songs he's singing tonight. Please, feel free to comment with your thoughts on his choices. Here I go. Ready?

Wait for it....

He is singing "A Little Less Conversation" and "Suspicious Minds." Discuss!

I'm bored.

It's Sunday and I want to go out. Yesterday was so much fun that I basically want to just have a rerun of the entire day.

Where is everyone today? I guess my peeps are busy. Oh well.

A day in the apartment, all alone. Yippie!

Friends marathon and cheese and crackers it is.

If anyone wants me, you know where to find me.

A Public Apology... @ 01:28 pm

Current Mood: guilty guilty
Current Music: Wasteland-10 Years

I'm not going to beat myself up about this, just going to apologize and pray that people forgive me for my mistake.

This week has been rough on me but not nearly as rough as it's been on others. I want to publicly apologize to those friends I've neglected since the break--up. I feel terrible that some of you have tried reaching out to me and I have ignored your problems and focused solely on my own. That is not my normal character. For those of you who have known me for awhile, that is NOT the kind of friend I am on a normal day-to-day basis. I'm far more concerned, compassionate, loyal and dedicated than that. Nonetheless, hindsight is 20/20. I am officially seeing the error of my ways.

I hope that I haven't lost any friends as a result of this but 100% understand if I have. I deserve it.

I don't expect anything in return. I just wanted those that I have abused the last few weeks to know that I do love them and cherish their friendship as truly one of the greatest of my life.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My Friday Five x 2 (EDITED) @ 07:41 am

Current Location: My office, Dallas, Texas

Fun for everyone. Feliz Cinco de Mayo everyone! Seems there are two versions of the Friday Five roaming the Earth today. I'm sure there are many, many more but here are the two I've seen thus far.

1. Have you ever been to Mexico? Yes, Cancun, summer of 1995

2. Do you know anyone who is currently in the military?
Yes, two cousins one in the Army (West Point) and the other in the Navy (Maine)

3. What is the last party you attended? My birthday party in January

4. What do you think about President Bush saying that the United States' National Anthem should only be sung in English? Didn't know he said it, don't really care.

5. French fries or freedom fries? If what another person said is true about it being named for a person, I don't care. Hell, I don't actually care if they came from France. I mean the Coneheads came from France...

Friday Five #2
1) Do you like your birth-name? Why? I hated it when I was younger. Once I realized the significance of the name I grew to appreciate it.
2) If you could change your name to anything else, what would it be? When I was a kid I wanted to be a "Chelsea" so badly. Now, not so much.
3) What names would you consider giving your children? Even though I don't want children I have actually thought about this, just in case. Boy - Montgomery Everett and a Girl - Brooklyn (no middle name yet)
4) If you had a band, what would you name it, and why? It would probably be something totally random like "Buttermilk" or something. Oh wait, that is my band name. heh
5) Is there a name that you completely hate? Why? For a long time I disliked the name Lesa. heh

Big, beautiful, brass ones too.

I just called my complex. The first person to answer the phone felt my wrath hard core when I get her have it over the whole rodent issue. I am LIT. She said that when Amy called on Tuesday someone was supposed to have come out and taken care of it. Um, yeah, not so much considering there was a note on our counter saying they'd checked for everything BUT rodents. Are you kidding me? So needless to say I am pretty upset. I didn't yell at her but I wanted to. It isn't her fault, I blame the exterminator for being a lazy ass or whatever. I explained to her the situation in detail and am pleased to report that I am slowly feeling better about the chances that my wall will be patched up today and I will be able to sleep through the night tonight. I'm hoping they find the actual mouse and either kill it or trap it in the wall. Either way I won't have to worry about if/when I can go to the bathroom again.

I'm rather proud of myself for getting upset enough to actually call the complex. Go me!!!!

And now on with your regularly-scheduled day.

Don't Touch Me... @ 07:35 am

So Daniel's little make-shift mouse/rat contraption failed. Last night I came home and all of his work was in the middle of the bathroom floor. The mouse (mice or rats or whatever it is) were able to chew through it and make their way back into the apartment somewhere. So I immediately call Daniel for back-up and promptly leave the apartment. Why do I do this? Well, primarily because I can't bear being in the same room with this hideous things and because I'd made a date with Mendie to have coffee. We were both so distracted I ended up home within 30 minutes. Oh well. Daniel met me at the apartment and tried his best to make the most of the sticky situation. No luck. So I called the only reinforcements I could think of. Tammy. Amy's old neighbor. This woman has balls. As soon as she heard what was going on, she came over, we drove to Wal-Mart, bought the items, she installed everything and is now on-call as we wait to see what happens next. Well, while on the toilet again this morning, the little booger scurried across the floor and headed back to the laundry room. I still hadn't brushed my teeth but I needed out of this apartment immediately before becoming a vomiting, screaming mess. So I brushed my teeth while staring at the floor. I also noticed that one of the blocks we'd wedged into the wall had been removed, so this mouse is obviously smart. This is posing a serious problem for me because now I want to just stay away from my bathroom/laundry room entirely until someone can patch up the hole in the wall. Tammy says "steel wool" is the only thing mice/rats can't chew through. We bought some but because the hole had been stuffed with other items there wasn't a chance it would be useable last night. So we're waiting, I guess. Tammy has determined she thinks it's a mouse and not a rat. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. To me, either way, it's a rodent that I want gone immediately.

In other news, I am meeting oodharmonic and vogonpoet for a little Starbucks and pressure canner drop-off action this afternoon. It's a rainy day and what better way to spend it than with good friends and good coffee. I haven't seen Laurel (OH's daughter) since my birthday party. Rumor has it she likes my red hair. She'll flip when she sees how red it is now!!!

So needless to say I am extremely jumpy today. I'm terrified of what I might find when I walk into my bathroom later today. Anyone have any thoughts? My complex is no help thus far but trust me when I say that they are getting a serious phone call from me today for their lack of concern on this matter. I will NOT stand for this any longer.

Be afraid of me today, folks, be very afraid.

Okay, so maybe not afraid. I'm in an okay mood otherwise. lol

New Favorite Site @ 10:35 am

This is a pretty frickin' cool site. It creates a radio station for you based on your musical tastes. You type in "U2" and it gives you a station that plays U2 songs as well as those of bands that are similar. So far I've heard the Cars, the Police, Bryan Adams and the Smithereens. I anticipate some Coldplay at some point just to make me giggle about the whole Chris Martin/Bono debacle.

Anyway, check it out, peeps.

This may be old news to some but courtesy of blimey85 I am now hooked.
